Job Description
The National Animal Genetic Resources Centre and Data Bank (NAGRC&DB) is a semi-autonomous agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries mandated to take a leading role in establishing a comprehensive National Animal Breeding Programme in Uganda. The agency wishes to recruit the following;
Job Title: Artificial Insemination Technician-Pigs

Duration of commitment: 1 Year Renewable Contract

Location: Various AnGRCs/Centre Farms
Reporting To: Centre Farm Manager
Overall Job Purpose:
To conduct Artificial Insemination (A.I) related activities in Pigs
Age Limit: 25-55 Years
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
• Carry out sensitisation of farmers and support them to correctly record breeding activities
• Carry out A.I activities in pigs
• Carry out post- A.I follow-up activities
• Offer training in farrowing activities
• Compile records of breeding activities from field stations
• Undertake any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisors
• UCE with a credit in English
• A minimum of a Certificate in Animal Production and Management from a recognized institution
• Certificate in Artificial Insemination of Pigs from a recognized organization/institution is a prerequisite
