Job Description


The AIDS Support Organization (TASO Uganda), is an Organisation contributing to a process of preventing HIV infection, restoring hope and improving the quality of life of persons, families and communities affected by HIV infection and disease. TASO requires the services of dedicated, competent, innovative and result-oriented individual for employment on a contract basis for the post below;

Job Title: REF: TS/HR/PGMTI09: Assistant Monitoring and Evaluation Officer (01)
Classification: Contract- full time
Reports to: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer
Salary: Commensurate with training and experience
Duty Station: TASO Soroti CoE
Directly Supervises: Records Clerk and Stand- in Data Entry Clerks
Main Purpose of the Job: To assist the Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to ensure proper management of monitoring and evaluation systems at the Centre.

Key Outputs
• Data routinely cleaned and validated
• Data entry supervised
• Data backup ensured
• Logistical support to Records Clerk and Stand-in Data Entry Clerks provided
• M&E data bases managed
• Subordinates effectively supervised

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Spearhead the sorting process of physical files before entry into computers and ensure well catalogued files in the system.
• Ensure timely entry of quality data by Part time Data Entry Clerks, do routine data cleaning and validation.
• Request for logistics and ensure timely payment for stand-in Data Entry Clerks.
• Ensure proper usage and maintenance of ICT equipment at the service center.
• Participate in daily data cleaning, ensure entry of quality data, carry out routine data analysis and disseminate reports to respective offices.
• Conduct daily data backups
• Support in trouble shooting all systems for data entry and maintain operational data bases.
• Monitor to ensure proper usage and smooth running of all information systems at the center.
• Develop work plans and schedules for data entry.
• Participate in 01 and research activities.
• Participate in developing M&E reports.
• Participate in organizing weekly monthly and quarterly performance reviews.
• Provide technical support to stand-in Data Entry Clerks and Records Clerks; Supervise and appraise the Records Clerks and Stand-in Data Entrants.
• Conduct in-house mentorships or other available trainings of subordinates and offer technical support and training to data collectors and other end-users.
• Participate in making or revising job descriptions of subordinates whenever necessary.
• Deputize the M&E Officer and attend to any other duties assigned.

Minimum Academic Qualifications: Degree in Statistics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science OR Business Statistics.

Required Experience and Exposure: 2 years’ experience in Data Management preferably in HIV related work.
