Kenjoy Supermarket is one of the notable supermarket chains in Uganda established in 1994 with branches spread across the city in the areas of Najjanankumbi, Bukoto, Mengo, Nansana to help give their customers unmatched service in this retail business with over 5,000 loyalty card customers.

Job Summary:   As a Cashier, you will play a vital role in our retail operations, directly interacting with customers and ensuring smooth transactions. You will be part of a dynamic team, reporting to the Head of Finance, and contributing to a customer-focused environment that values accuracy and efficiency. We are looking for detail-oriented individuals who are team players and possess a strong sense of responsibility.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Receive payment by cash, check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits.
• Greet customers entering the establishment.
• Calculate total payments received and reconcile with total sales.
• Issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change due to customers.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
• Compute and record totals of transactions.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Education: Post-secondary Diploma in relevant fields
• Experience: 1-2 years in a similar role
• Required Skills: Service Orientation, Active Listening, Speaking, Social Perceptiveness
• Required Knowledge: Customer and Personal Service, Sales and Marketing
• Technology Knowledge: Proficient in POS software (specifically Ritebooks) and spreadsheet software
• Language Proficiency: English
