Job Description


JOB DETAILS:
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for the role of Chief Agency Officer, Jubilee Life Insurance, Uganda. The position holder will report to the Chief Executive Officer.

Main Responsibilities
Strategy
• Translate strategy into actionable growth steps.
• Set, implement, and communicate the agency’s operational and sales direction.
• Align departmental strategies with Board-approved budgets.
• Encourage the adoption of industry trends and technologies.

Sales
• Collaborate with Marketing to penetrate key markets.
• Define strategies for new business sales and account retention.
• Create a sales and distribution plan to maximize opportunities.
• Foster positive relationships with major customers and support key account proposals.

Operations
• Develop sales & distribution policies that enhance performance and culture..
• Identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement appropriate risk management strategies.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards via audits and reviews.

Compliance
• Ensure adherence to insurance-related statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., Treating Customers Fairly, Data Protection, Anti-Money Laundering).
• Comply with company policies, and statutory reporting requirements.
• Ensure adherence to underwriting limits, policies, and processes.

Leadership and People
• Provide transformational leadership to exceed stakeholder expectations.
• Build departmental capacity through leadership and evaluation.
• Ensure team development and succession planning.

Academic Qualifications
• Master’s in business administration, Strategy, Finance or any other related course
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Related fields Professional Qualifications
• DIU/LOMA/ACII Qualification or equivalent

Relevant Experience
• Minimum of 15 years of experience in Sales/Business Development.
• Have experience in operating in complex business environments and/ or regulated sectors and have the personal qualities to develop strong stakeholder relationships.
• Demonstrate ‘best in class’ knowledge of technology, change, process improvement and operational management in relevant businesses.
