Hashtag Gulu Initiative is a youth-focused and youth-led registered Indigenous nonprofit
organisation dedicated to supporting children and youths who live or work on the streets. Our
work focuses on rehabilitation, reformation, and reintegration.
We envision a community where individuals take collective responsibility for each other’s well-
being, contributing to an inclusive and peaceful society. Hashtag Gulu Initiative provides
alternatives to crime and violence by mentoring street-connected children and youths to become
productive citizens. We collaborate with parents to address the root causes of the challenges
faced by these individuals rather than relying on unsubstantiated assumptions
