Job Description


Clinical Quality Improvement Officer (Yumbe)
The Clinical Quality Improvement Officer is responsible for working with the transition manager and the health facility-in charge to develop, maintain, and implement plans to achieve quality improvement goals and ensuring that staff members conform to government regulations and institutional policy for healthcare standards. The officer will oversee and monitor a formal quality improvement program and develop performance improvement targets. The officer must use clinical experience and education to manage data collection, analysis and measurement skills to set key performance indicators and measure progress. Will prepare written reports, assemble data, and must also be experienced in developing charts and graphs representing key performance indicators and other data.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential:
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in nursing, midwifery or health care management
• The ideal candidate will have a particular experience or interest in patient safety issues, QI/QA project management knowledge of recognized QI/QA standards, data analysis and reporting, and clinical quality improvement.
• At least 3 years work experience in a clinical /service delivery setting.
• Strong understanding of strengthening quality of service delivery programs at the facility level
• Decision-making and leadership skills and excellent time management capacities
• Highly developed interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Willingness to learn new skills and methodologies
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Computer literate in word processing and excel packages
• An understanding of programming in emergency context desirable
Desirable
• Willingness to travel and work in hard-to-reach areas, occasionally under strenuous conditions.
