Job Summary:
The Clinical Services Manager will spearhead the delivery of primary health care services within Watoto medical clinics
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- To support with monthly planning and delivery of primary health care services according to departmental strategies and goals and evaluate their effectiveness.
- To collaborate with and support other Child Care departments to ensure smooth operations of medical services to their respective areas and participate in all Watoto Church medical activities as may be required.
- To collaborate and coordinate with external stakeholders to ensure the medical department’s operations are within the required health policies.
- To participate in budget planning, implementation and monitoring.
- To provide direction and supervision to the Clinic coordinators, Laboratory Coordinator, Dental officer and monitor their performance in accordance to their job descriptions and department work plans.
- To coach, mentor and support with relevant trainings and developmental programs for the medical staff members and the Watoto family at large.
- To spearhead compliance to policies and standard operating procedures and support with continual development of policies and guidelines for the department and others that it supports.
- To coordinate and chair regular meetings with the medical team and disseminate organizational decisions and any other useful information to the team as required.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal applicant should hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Human Medicine. A Master’s Degree in Public Health is an added advantage.
- At least three years’ experience in a similar role in a large and busy organisation.
- Good inter-personal skills and ability to relate well to children of all ages.
- Passionate about community health care with ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Commitment to working within standardized guidelines.
- High level of motivation and initiative and the ability to strive for a high standard of practice.
