We are looking for an experienced Individual to take on the role of Communications Coordinator. He/She will be responsible for developing and overseeing the implementation of PACE strategic communication strategy and interventions and drive internal and external visibility of PACE in support of all PACE programmatic health areas to ensure quality marketing and communication. The Communications Coordinator will provide overall quality control on the organization’s communications and advocacy, deliver high quality, proactive communications and will use the latest models and innovations in project communications, to drive strategy and deliver gains in product and service uptake by target audiences.

Your contribution

• Develop and oversee PACE overall communications and advocacy strategic vision.
• Develop and manage proactive consistent channels of communication to document and profile PACE’s key interventions for internal and external stakeholders’ groups.
• Develop strategic partnerships with key stakeholders including MoH, community-based organizations, national and international partners and organisations, to strengthen PACE’s visibility across current health areas.
• Represent PACE at national level through SBCC-related Technical Working Groups and in other relevant fora.
• Provide support for SBC message development for projects and IEC production for programming, with support mentorship to field teams in storytelling for development.
• Liaise with Project coordinators to understand programmatic needs and expectations to be accomplished through SBCC and develop appropriate strategies; and establish key messages which differentiate PACE areas of expertise.
• SBCC and marketing focal point in procurement, awarded contracts and coordinating the production and/or implementation of behaviour change communications including production of IEC materials, media buying and distribution and monitoring of PACE IEC materials.
• Updating and maintenance of the PACE’s Website and internal SharePoint site and production of the Annual Report and document success stories for public dissemination.
• Take the lead in ensuring PACE is abreast and up-to-date with developments in SBCC theory and practice and that these are integrated as necessary.
• Provide support in the writing of donor reports and build a PACE Communications calendar to define timing for messaging throughout the year.
• Work alongside the EMT to develop an advocacy strategy and plan for key policy issues impacting the work of PACE.
• Co-ordinate the concept testing and pre-testing of all communication materials that are developed.

Basics

• Bachelor’s Degree in communication, Marketing and any other related field.
• Advanced degree. (Public Health or related field an advantage).
• Demonstrated success in generating innovative and effective behavior change or marketing solutions.
• Previous experience in the development and implementation of Social Behavioural Change Communication strategies and programs.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, external stakeholders and partners.
• Ability to work across multiple project teams.
• Previous experience with a donor funded Non-governmental organization is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to work with various partners including donors, MoH, Local governments, CBO’s and NGO’s.
• High level of attention to details in all aspects of work responsibilities.
• Commitment to deadlines.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff, external stakeholders and partners.
• Expanded computer skills including experience using word processing, database and spreadsheet software.
• Highly self-driven and is passionate about what they do.

2. Increased internal employee alignment & engagement as per the donor guidelines.
3. Communications Channels developed and updated regularly such as:
• Internal Website
• External Website
• Quarterly E-Newsletters
• Social Media
• Radio Talk Shows
• Regular Donor Reports updated
• Annual reports out on time
4. Filed and disseminated success stories for the different programmes.
5. SBCC and PR Advocacy plan drafted, approved and implemented.
6. Procurement of Behaviour Change Communications items and budget spend across the various projects on par with time elapsed per project, based on the marketing plans.
7. Increased representation at key national events and fora, in line with PACE’s health areas and
strategic vision.
