HEALTH PROGRAM Our health intervention in Uganda began in 2008 to ensure that people living in poverty can access quality, affordable health services. The goal of the projects is to lower morbidity and mortality among children under five from diseases such as diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria; improve maternal health, improve basic essential healthcare services in rural areas, and improve the nutritional status of smallholder families with a focus on pregnant women, children under five and adolescent girls.
BRAC as a consortium partner of the USAID Uganda Health Systems Strengthening (UHSS) Activity, led by Palladium with funding from USAID is recruiting for the following position to coordinate technical assistance efforts at district and regional levels. UHSS aims to strengthen the performance of national and sub-national health systems through improved leadership and accountability for results, increased availability and improved management of key health systems resources, and strengthened community systems for quality health services.

Core Roles and Responsibilities
1. In collaboration with MOH and Regional Implementing Partners, track and ensure availability of community health reporting tools.
2. Spearhead capacity building activities for poor performing districts to improve community level data capture, reporting and utilization.
3. Work closely with the project management team and stakeholders to advice on interoperability and integration of community health management information systems.
4. Support internal data quality assessments and assist in preparing the Activity for external data quality assessments.
5. Conduct research and apply technical skills, standards, and innovation to carry out project activities that arise throughout the project.
6. Track community health-related key performance indicators.
7. Contribute to development of work plan reports and other project documents.
8. Support needs assessments and baseline survey data collection.
9. Other related activities and responsibilities as project need arises.
(Others) safeguarding roles:
• Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
• Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
• Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.
Required qualifications and skills.
• He/she should have Bachelor’s degree in public health,
• computer science or social science or a postgraduate.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in developing and maintaining information systems.
• He/she should have functional knowledge of DHIS2, HMIS and other community data collection tools.
• Must have a good understanding of the different community level information systems including community level data collection tools.
• Have a good understanding and experience working with national and sub national level governments. Good written, oral communication skills with ability to discern and communicate appropriate technical details to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to think outside the box, creative and result oriented.
