Job Title: Delivery Manager

About Halisi Labs:

Halisi Labs is a young dynamic company with a vision to be Uganda’s leading SME in the next 2 years. We are looking for a Delivery Manager to coordinate the delivery of our products with our motorbike riders and drivers to our customers.

Role Overview:

Halisi Labs is seeking a talented and experienced Delivery Manager to oversee and optimise our delivery operations. The Delivery Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the delivery process, including logistics, last-mile delivery, procurement, inventory management, and e-commerce business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics management, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivery Operations Management:
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise delivery routes, minimise delivery times, and reduce costs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth and efficient delivery operations.
  • Monitor delivery performance metrics and implement improvements as needed to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
  1. Logistics and Supply Chain Management:
  • Oversee procurement processes to ensure timely acquisition of necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Manage inventory levels and stock replenishment to support delivery operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks in the supply chain to minimise disruptions to delivery services.
  1. Last-Mile Delivery Optimization:
  • Develop innovative solutions to optimise last-mile delivery processes and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to leverage data analytics and automation tools for route optimization and delivery tracking.
  1. Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead and motivate a team of delivery staff, including motorbike riders, drivers, and logistics coordinators.
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high levels of productivity and customer service excellence.
  1. Customer Relationship Management:
  • Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to understand client requirements and deliver customised delivery solutions.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain high levels of satisfaction and loyalty.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience over 3 years in a similar role, with a track record of success in managing delivery operations and logistics functions.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce business models and online marketplace dynamics.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools for route optimization, inventory management, and tracking.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities with a focus on team building, communication, and problem-solving.
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards related to transportation and delivery services.
