Job Description
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or other related field plus a Master’s Degree in either Gender; or Social Work and Social Administration; or Social Sciences; or any other related field from a recognized University / Institution.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of nine (9) years working experience in Gender Management or Non-Governmental Organizations that deal in Community Developmental Programs , three (3) of which should have been gained at Assistant Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Director Gender, Community Services and Production for performing the following duties:-
• Developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of social rehabilitation and resettlement programs in transforming inhabitants to responsible and productive citizens.
Developing, monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the gender mainstreaming, emancipation and empowerment programs and initiatives.
• Planning and overseeing the implementation of social rehabilitation and resettlement welfare and community service programs for people with disabilities (PWDs) and elderly.
• Developing, designing and evaluating the effectiveness of programs for raising awareness and empowerment of People-With- Disabilities and the Elderly.
Developing and monitoring the implementation of Poverty Eradication / Alleviation Programs including the functional adult literacy, income generating projects/gainful employment opportunities, and diversification and marketing of the agriculture and fisheries.
• Designing and monitoring the implementation of for the Youth focusing on creating opportunities for entrepreneurship, financial management, livelihood, partnerships and culture.
Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management guidelines.
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
