Job Description


JOB PURPOSE: The role holder will be responsible for identifying opportunities for creating new digital credit products and services and/or evolving existing ones to better meet our customers’ needs as well as the Bank’s strategic objectives. The role will focus on the application of digital technologies and data analytics to the Bank’s credit products end-to-end, to improve the customer experience, product performance and regulatory compliance.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Lead the design, development and enhancement of the Bank’s digital credit products and services in collaboration with the Product Development & Innovation and Product Management teams. This includes the digitization of existing non-digital credit products.
• Develop and implement credit risk  assessment models as well as risk mitigation strategies for digital lending products.

Work with the Credit and Risk teams to monitor and manage the credit risk exposure for digital lending products.
• Incorporate modern data analytics into the lending lifecycle from determination of eligibility and credit scoring to optimization of lending processes.

Improve the digital lending customer journey by streamlining the application processes, and feedback mechanisms and implementing user-friendly features across all relevant customer channels and touchpoints.

Collaborate with the Compliance team to ensure that all digital lending offerings from the Bank are compliant with industry regulations, internal policies, and other applicable laws.
• Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs and competitive insights that will then feed into concrete strategies to grow the Bank’s digital lending business.
• Identify potential Fintechs and other firms to partner with to enhance our digital credit offerings and/or capabilities.
• Provide input into the Technology team’s IT roadmap and budgeting to align with the Bank’s digital lending journey and ambitions.
• Support Bank-wide staff training initiatives on digital lending products, services, tools, and processes.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Business Computing, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications are an added advantage.
• Deep 360-degree knowledge of Financial Technology and Banking Products.
• At least 5 years experience in digital lending, financial services or a related field involving the development of credit/lending services.
• Demonstrable understanding of banking operations, Fintech, and financial services sector product development. This must include knowledge of credit risk assessment, modelling, and management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess credit risk, interpret complex data and make data-driven decisions.
• Proficiency in digital lending platforms, financial software, and data analysis tools.
• Good understanding of financial regulations and compliance requirements related to credit in general and digital lending in particular.
• Deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to enhancing customer experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to convey complex information to different stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Strong attention to detail.
