Independent Evaluation & Research Cell (IERC) IERC conducts impact evaluation, nationally representative surveys, and other process documentation on multi-sectoral topics in the diverse contexts in Africa and Asia. IERC generates knowledge for policy actors on the relevance, impact, and sustainability of BRAC programs and beyond. IERC works with development and academic partners to evaluate approaches to solving development problems, to communicate what works and does not work in scale
Job Title: Digital Research Specialist
Positions: 01
Location: Country Office – Nsambya .

Core Roles and Responsibilities
1. To search, design and implement digital technology for social development projects at BRAC countries and beyond.
2. Collaborate with software developers, researchers and users to establish the technical vision, research questions, and analyze trade-offs between usability and performance needs.
3. Drive innovation and new ideas in digital research and support for digital strategy by exploring the technology standards or mandates for future BRAC programs.
4. Lead and systemize to collate the learning part of the technological use of any intervention for knowledge management and publication.
5. Communicate with diverse category of stakeholders to learn from others and communicate BRAC projects including donors, government agencies and likeminded organizations.
6. Identify user needs, define and prioritize features, establish project specifications and requirements to in-build them into project design, implementation, and monitoring for pilots and at scale.
Safe guarding roles.
Ensuring the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals on safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safe guarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, encourage others to do so.

Required Qualifications and Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Digital Media, Computer Science or Engineering.
• (No Testimonial allowed).
• At least 3- 4 years of relevant experience in either digital technology use or as researchers. The candidate should have at least 3 years relevant experience in the use of technology in development projects and evaluation research
• Ability to communicate with software developers to provide insights and guidance to ensure that UX/UI experiences are optimized and consistent.
• Experience in deploying, maintaining, and supporting web and mobile applications (especially Android). Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS,SQL/databases,
• Git/GitLab/version control and cloud services will be an added advantage.
• Ability to manage and manipulate large statistical datasets to assess project impact.
• Knowledge of agile practices, design thinking, information architecture and multiple technical project or product management skills.
