Job Description
Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Planning; or Land Use Planning; or Regional and Urban Planning; or Urban Planning and Design and Spatial Planning from a recognized University / Institution, plus a Master’s Degree in any of the above fields from a recognized University / Institution. Applicants should be registered with the relevant professional body.
Working Experience
Applicants should have a minimum of ten (10) years working experience in Physical Planning and Urban Planning five (5) of which should have been gained at Commissioner or Head of Department level in Government or from a reputable organization.
Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Executive Director for performing the following duties:-
• Planning, developing and reviewing the annual Physical Planning Business Plan, set benchmarks for the implementation of the planned projects, evaluate the performance of the plan and generate Reports to management as required;
Planning and designing the City physical infrastructure including the zoning, land sub- division and determination of the areas for development;
• Planning, conducting, surveying and mapping, delineate the areas for social infrastructure, establishment of geodetic control, quality checks of cadastral jobs; and survey of City land boundaries, production and printing of topographical maps;
• Planning and monitoring the surveying, valuation, registration and administration of Land in the City and manage resolution of land disputes.
Planning and guiding all developments on the ground in the authority as per the applicable law;
• Developing and implementing KCCA planning regulations and standards in line with the KCCA objectives;
• Initiating legal action against any authorized development in compliance with the law;
• Initiating, reviewing and providing technical advice to management on the implementation of the Authority physical planning in line with the Authority’s objectives;
Managing the performance of staff under direct supervision in accordance with the Performance Management Guidelines
• Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
