Job Description
Uganda Martyrs University is a faith-based private, not-for-profit, University and an equal opportunity employer owned by the Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda. The University is looking for suitably qualified persons to fill the following administrative and academic position:
Quality Assurance Department
Position: Director for Quality Assurance (1 Position)
Duty Station: UMU Main Campus Nkozi
Reports to: Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic
Qualifications and Experience
The candidate should have a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline from a recognized Institution. A PhD is an added advantage. S/he should have firm knowledge in Curriculum development and Review. The candidate should have served at a senior level position in Higher Education Institutions or a similar regulatory body for at least 3 years. S/he should have strong interpersonal skills, satisfactory record of service to the community and high degree of integrity.
Accountability Profile
• Providing leadership for Quality Assurance and good practices in the University.
• Ensuring that department policies and procedures are implemented.
• Setting performance standards for every functional unit of the University.
• Leading development and oversee the implementation of the University quality assurance initiatives.
• Writing proposals for Resource Mobilization for the Quality Assurance Directorate.
• Contributing to the identification, development and promotion of the University’s Quality Assurance protocols and mechanisms.
• Serving as a link between the University and other national and international agencies engaged in Quality Assurance initiatives.
• Formulating and implementing Quality Assurance policies.
• Supervise staff in Quality Assurance Directorate.
• Coordinating the preparation of Quality Assurance Committee meetings.
• Liaising with all Departments in generating quality programmes and activities.
• Spearheading the training of University staff in Quality Assurance issues.
