Job Description


Position Summary:
The DIC District Coordinator-Clinical-Co/Nurse will be responsible for supervision of District nurse, ensuring KP HTS targets are met, all newly identified clients tested positive are linked into care, supported to start ART and as well supported to virally suppress. Ensure KPS receive the service-layering package and actively enroll high-risk negative clients on PrEP.

The DIC coordinator will also support in championing and providing an oversight for DIC quality management systems, including good customer care, quality improvement, data capture and use.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
KRA1: Support the DIC team to ensure children of index clients and sexual partners are all targeted for HTS and DIC targets are met.
• Coordination and Supervision DIC activities on a regular basis
• Facilitate advocacy meetings and focus group discussions
• Develop and monitor the weekly work plan of the DIC
• Arrange weekly and monthly meetings to identify shortfalls and to evolve corrective measures and plans of action Monitor and replenish commodities and supplies such as Needles and Syringe Kits, condoms, and lubricants daily or as needed
• Organize waste disposal facilities
• Mobilize, educate and counsel KPs about HTS and combination prevention services
• Offer Index testing and social network testing to all KPLHIV in ART care Line list contacts (social, biological children, sexual partners) of KPLHIV (and in ART) who need HIV Testing services (HTS) and HIV status neutral services.
• Identify and link AGYW in transactional sex on the DREAMS platform. Distribute HIVST and SNS coupon among Key populations, and track and report on self-HIV testing among KP peers and their contacts.
• Re-offer Assisted partner notification/ index testing and SNS to KPs as per SOP.
• Follow up referrals to CBOs/CSOs, health facilities and ensure KP clients received the services they were referred for, and the facility community and community facility register is well updated on time.
• Network with community referral points in the DIC’s catchment area to source support to KP clients in need of different services.
• Ensure proper archiving and storage of DIC Registers and files.
• Ensure availability of the current guidelines, job aids, SOPs, reporting. tools required for running the DIC implementation activities.

Required Education, Knowledge and Experience:
• Diploma in nursing/Midwifery or in health-related field
• Certificate in HIV Counseling is an added advantage.
• Working experience of atleast 2years
• Knowledge in nursing care, HIV testing STI Screening and management, ART, PrEP
• Knowledge of Ministry of health and local government systems
• At least one years’ experience in HIV/ AIDS related work
• Knowledge in HIV & AIDS counselling

Contract Tenure: 1 year with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funding.
