Reach Out Mbuya Community Health Initiative (ROM) is a Faith and Community-based organization providing holistic care to extremely vulnerable people living with HIV/AIDS. ROM holistically focuses on the body, mind, family and community wellbeing.

In partnership with World Education Initiative/Bantwana, we are implementing the USAID Integrated Child and Youth Development Activity (ICYD) in Kampala District. The Activity aims to ensure Uganda’s children and youth, especially girls and the most vulnerable, are well prepared to lead resilient, healthy, and productive lives. The activity will support interventions that lead to three outcomes:
1. Children have improved learning outcomes.
2. Children are safe and healthy in their community and learning environments.
3. Youth practice positive behaviours and make informed decisions about their lives and relationships.

We are therefore looking for motivated and competent individuals to join our amazing team and fill the following vacancies.
Job Title: Economic Strengthening Supervisor (2)
Reports to: Case Management Technical Officer through the Division Coordinator.
Directly supervises: Community Based Trainers (CBTs)
Location: All Divisions

Job summary
The Economic Strengthening Supervisor (ESS) will be responsible for the day-today implementation of the economic empowerment component of the ICYD activity in Kampala District. S/he will be responsible for activity planning and implementation to improve the economic conditions of target groups through improved access and utilization of services and products and better access to markets.

Responsibilities and Duties
• Deliver economic strengthening initiatives to the critically vulnerable OVC households
• Establish and maintain productive working relationships with Division officials (production officer and CDO) and other line departments, soliciting their participation in all activities where appropriate.
• Identify ways to improve the performance and management of groups formed by the Community based Trainers (CBTs).
• He/she will work directly with Social Workers especially in areas of planning, coordination and reporting of field activities to foster service layering and continuously gather and share data specific.
• He/she will ensure that the contracted Community-based Trainers (CBTs) meet their targets, attend group meetings as and when they are required, collect data from the field and submit accurate data on time.
• Ensure establishment and maintenance of relationships with communities and other CSOs in target operation areas.
• Implement timely quarterly and monthly project work plans that will guide Economic Strengthening (ES) activity implementation.
• Coordinate Community-Based Trainers (CBTs), and other community structures to identify households that need Temporary Consumption Support (TCS) and developed plans of action for support.
• Support and observe the safeguarding culture of ROM, regularly documenting and reporting identified and potential safeguarding issues; Ensuring health, safety, and security in your area of operation, as you promote the vision, mission and the values of Reach Out Mbuya.
• Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• The applicant should hold a Bachelor’s in entrepreneurship, microfinance, Development Studies, Social Sciences or Social Work, or a closely related field.
• At least 5 years of work experience in economic strengthening initiatives that target vulnerable communities mainly orphan and vulnerable children and households.
• Experience in working with private sector partners and market-based solutions to addressing poverty.
• Additional training in income generation, life skills, monitoring and evaluation and HIV/AIDS is an added advantage.
• Able to work independently and cooperatively with team members.
• Ability in report writing and presentation
• Ability to follow implementation procedures and meet project deadlines.
• Demonstrate personal accountability; respect for others and a drive to serve OVC.
• S/he should have Computer skills and competence in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet).
