Nation Media Group is Uganda’s most influential media house, operating the Daily Monitor, Saturday Monitor, Sunday Monitor and The East African Newspapers, 93.3 KFM, and Nation Courier Service. It also operates NTV, the biggest and most popular English-language television station and Spark TV, the first female-focused, and fastest growing television station in Uganda.

We are looking for a qualified, experienced and result oriented professional to fill the following vacancy.

Job Title: Electrician
Reports to: Production Manager
Department: Production

JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain the press and auxiliary equipment in the plant, install and commission new equipment and supervise service level providers.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Plan production maintenance for weekly, monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly maintenance tasks.
• Ensure that all the tasks specified by the planner are carried out on due dates in accordance with the approved procedures.

Supervises service level providers to carry out proper maintenance on equipment when due.
• Attends to breakdowns promptly during production and solves problems within the shortest time possible.

Installs and commissions new equipment including hardware and software.
• Counter checks the work assigned to Electrical Technician to ensure thoroughness.
• Ensure the use of quality work practices.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Academic: Basic University degree in Electrical /Electronic Engineering
Professional: Engineer registration board certificate
Experience: At least 2 years working experience
