Job Description
Makerere University College of Health Sciences, School of Public Health has received funding from WHO through MoH to undertake a National Harmonized SARA Study for the ‘Harmonized Health Facility Assessment’ (HHFA) in Uganda’s Health Sector-2021.
The overall goal of HHFA is to generate evidence-based data on health service delivery and quality to guide efforts for improving service delivery, policy development and practice. The specific objectives are to establish nationwide service availability and readiness levels within Uganda’s health sector to determine nationwide quality of health care and safety within Uganda’s health sector and to provide strategic information for guiding sustainable improvement in health service delivery and quality MAKSPH seeks to recruit highly experienced and competent Research Assistants (RAs) and Field Supervisors to support the implementation of the study.
Job Title: Field Supervisors (15)
Qualifications and Experience
• Master’s degrees in Public Health, Health Services Research, Epidemiology or an equivalent
• Having worked in at least 2 research projects as a supervisor
• A valid certificate in Good Clinical Practice and or Human Subject Research is an added advantage.
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to work in a fast paced environment
• Willingness to move to the field to conduct supervision
Duties:
• Working together with Project Coordinator, Consultancy Team and Investigators to supervise and support field data collection activities.
• Work alongside the Project Coordinator and other members of the research team to meet the research project objectives
• Supervise enrollment of study participants and data collection from health facilities
• Ensure timely follow up of study participants
• Ensure safe custody of Data and institute quality checks of the data being collected
• Oversee data collected from the field and ensure it is correctly saved in the existing databases on the allocated server Hold daily debrief meetings with the field teams to assess how the day’s activities proceeded and plan for the next day
• Hold weekly debrief meetings with Investigators
• Ensure quality assurance of the data collected
• Prepare and submit weekly field reports to the Project Coordinator
• Perform any other tasks as required by the Investigators
Duty Stations:
The successful candidate will be working in any of following regions; Acholi, Ankole, Bugisu, Bukedi, Bunyoro, Busoga, Kampala, Karamoja, Kigezi, Lango, North Central, South Central, Teso, Tooro, and West Nile.
