RAKAI HEALTH SCIENCES PROGRAM
Rakai Health Sciences Program (RHSP) is a collaborative bio – medical research and service delivery organization. RHSP strives to improve the quality of life of the local population through a combination of community-based research, curative services, and prevention strategies in the districts of South-central Uganda.

POSITION: FINANCE ASSISTANT – RECORDS CLERK
DUTY STATION: KALISIZO

JOB SUMMARY
This position will provide support to the cluster in all accounting works including but not limited to the following.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• To ensure proper filing of all documents within Finance-Subgrantee accountabilities office
• To support on document transfer to and from our different office locations and coordinate with the necessary support staff to ensure that all data storage facilities are in order.
• To prepare and update records for tracking approval of Payment vouchers, requisitions and other direct payments by authorizers.
• To ensure that the filing sections are neatly arranged and are decluttered.
• To follow up on approval payment queries from SMT and ensure that the queries are minimized.
• To Update and ensure compliance to internal controls within different process of operation in the Organization’s support continuous improvement mechanisms by proposing new innovations /ideas to improve accountability and service delivery within Finance.
• To Perform Any other duties as assigned by the Senior Accountant, Finance Manager and Head of department. To support on the backlog Data entry process.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance/accounting or related course.
• One year relevant work experience.
• Basic accounting and bookkeeping skills
• knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and other common financial software programs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; strong writing and verbal skills
• Ability to consistently and innovatively complete multiple tasks in a timely manner
• And ability to work independently or with minimal supervision
