JOB DETAILS:

Our client, Horyal Investments Holding Company Ltd has commenced the process to operationalize á leading new sugar factory at AtiakUganda ,East Africa. The Factory, jointly owned by the Government of Republic of Uganda ,with annual production capacity(APC). 60,000 Tonnes of granular sugar seeks to recruit competent persons for the following position.
Job Title: General Head Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Factory Manager

Purpose:

To monitor the constant supply of electricity to the company and to plan, program and supervise the execution of the electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repairs in order to achieve the agreed production targets

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise the operation of a steam/ diesel power generation plant.
• Plan and supervise the installation of new equipment and assist with commissioning.
• To assign specific maintenance tasks to subordinate staff direct and monitor their performance and standards.
• Attend meetings and other work related gatherings in and outside the company
• Direct and supervise the execution of electrical breakdown repairs in order to minimize machine down time and process losses
• Investigate and diagnose faults and take necessary action in order to prevent re-occurrence,
• Work hand in hand with the Factory Manager in designing and carrying out preventive electrical maintenance programs.
• Coordinate with the UMEME district officials to rectify electrical faults on the high voltage lines on the estate.
• Carry out training of subordinate staff and management trainees as well as industrial trainees from different higher institutions of learning in order to enhance their career skills that will be beneficial to the company.
• Adhere to and enforce company safety, health and environment regulations in place among subordinate employees, to observe good housekeeping habits, in order to maintain a safe and accident Tree working environment.
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned or delegated by the Factory Manager/ management from time to time.

Specific knowledge & Skills:

• Electrical functioning principles and procedures
• Use and application of lubricants and machinery servicing
• Installation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
• Operation and maintenance of electrical distribution systems
• Operation and maintenance of a steam/ diesel power generation plant
• Dismantling, overhauling, and assembling of electronic machines.

Required Education qualification:

• A Degree in electrical engineering.
• A postgraduate qualification in sugar production engineering or related field from a reputable institution.

Experience:

• A minimum of seven (7) years working experience in maintenance of a large and heavy process industry
• Five (5) years of which should have been at a senior managerial position in a large sugar producing factory.
• Age: 30-50 Years

Job Education: Degree in electrical engineering

Job Experience: 5 years

Work Hours: 8
