Butuuro Peoples Sacco is a member owned, governed and controlled institution which started operations in 2007 under registration number 8583/RCS and operates within South Western Uganda with its Head Office located in Nyakabirizi Trading Center, Bushenyi- Ishaka Municipality and Branches in Kashenshero T/C, Kyabugimbi T/C, Bikurungu T/C and in Mbarara City. We are seeking for qualified, experienced and result oriented individuals to fill the following positions:-

Position: General Manager

Reports to: Board of Directors

Job Purpose: Provision of overall operational, credit, and administrative leadership for the SACCO, ensuring effective management of personnel and assets for high-quality service delivery in line with the SACCO’s Vision, Mission, and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily operations, manage personnel, and ensure organizational compliance.
  • Oversee asset and liability management, ensuring quality and stability.
  • Drive business growth and continuity.
  • Represent the SACCO in institutional and stakeholder engagements.

Job requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree or postgraduate diploma will be an added advantage.
  • At least 3 years in a senior management role within a reputable, commercially focused organization.
  • Strong skills in leadership, financial management, and communication.
  • Must have attained a credit in Math and English at O Level.
  • Age range: 30-45 years.

Position: Cashiers (02)

Reports to: Branch Manager

Job purpose: Receiving all cash deposits, paying out cash to customer and service providers, balancing daily cash transactions.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide accurate responses to all customers’ enquiries with a friendly and courteous approach.
  • Ensure timely balancing of day’s work, lodging in of cash/vouchers with the supervisor.
  • Enforce know your customer (KYC) Policy.
  • Ensure the safe custody of cash and other documents at all times.

Job requirements and Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration, or relevant field preferred from a recognized educational Institution.
  • High level of honesty, integnity and accountability.
  • Customer care, teamwork and good people management skills.
  • Must have attained a Credit in Math and English at O’Level
  • Not more than 30 years of age
  • Applicants from Rukungiri and Kanungu Districts are preferred.
