coordinating the process of developing and executing the country office strategy, developing multi-year and annual departmental plans which enable Action Against Hunger Uganda to effectively cascade and achieve Action Against Hunger Uganda’s strategic goals and objectives..

Key activities in your role will include:
• Coordinate the process of developing and executing the country office strategy.
• Support all departments to develop multi-year and annual departmental plans which enable Action Against Hunger Uganda to effectively cascade and achieve the country office strategic goals and objectives.
• Accountable for developing standardized technical approaches and project models which enhance Action Against Hunger Uganda’s programming expertise, thought leadership and influence.
• Report on all program/project information needed to report on program impact and progress including all donor-funded projects, ensuring that reporting requirements are met and all reports are subjected to rigorous quality assurance processes
• Ongoing monitoring of the operating context and adaptation of program strategies to enhance ongoing relevance and impact.
• Manage the country office technical team (which includes sector specialists – nutrition, food security and livelihoods, M&E. Supervise the MEAL manager/coordinator to ensure that all programs establish functional MEAL systems.

Requirements
Do you meet the required criteria?
You are enthusiastically pursuing a career in senior management
• You have a minimum 15 years of senior leadership experience involving strategic planning, operations management, fundraising, external engagement/networking
• You have a Master’s degree in social sciences or a public health with Masters in Public Health or any other relevant field.
• You have experience working with diverse donors (SIDA, WFP, EU, GAC etc.).
• You have a solid experience in managing complex programs, large budgets and diverse teams.
• You have the ability to maintain performance expectations and healthy social interactions in psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources.
• You have strong team management skills and experience collaborating with key business partners i.e., finance, HR, supply chain management and ensuring that programs receive timely project support and inputs.
• You are able to maintain performance expectations and healthy social interactions in psychologically stressful environments and physical hardship conditions with limited resources
• You have Proven analytical skills and ability to think strategically, including the ability to think beyond the country program context.
• You are self-starter who can work independently under pressure and who has ability to management competing priorities without direct supervision
• You are diplomatic but tenacious. You recognize that advocating for change & innovative programming requires building strong relationships with donors, local authorities & other partners, while retaining the space to speak confidently about Action Against Hunger’s programs & our knowledge of the humanitarian/development needs.
• You are an astute negotiator and know how to reach Win-Win outcomes.
• You are able to organize, mentor, engage and motivate a multicultural team.
• You are a tactful speaker & expert listener.
• You are able to remain calm under pressure and can easily adapt to changing circumstances.
• You are able to continuously motivate yourself and your teams to deliver high standards of work.
• You demonstrate strong self-awareness and are not afraid to take responsibility for your actions.
• You are ready and willing to integrate into hard working and fun team that believes in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well.
