Kakira Sugar Limited is a leading sugar manufacturer in Uganda, KSL boasts of two (2) sugar estates, one in Kakira – Jinja and the other in Kayunga. We seek to recruit dynamic, competent and experienced candidates to fill various vacant positions in the company.

Job Title: Head Teacher Secondary School (“0” & “A” Levels)
Job Ref:2021.5.32/AD-M-K55-01
Reporting to the Chief Education Administrator (CEA) and Board of Governors (BOG): Will be responsible for:
• Preparing the schemes of work/lesson plans and teaching students according to the set timetable.
• Being in charge of overall administration and management of the school
• Planning for the physical development of the school and professional development of the staff
• Planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the teaching programmes and activities of the staff and students.
• Ensuring proper planning, budgeting and accountability of the school activities and resources in consultation with the CEA & BOG
• Coordinating and accounting of the functions of the Board of Governors as per the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Management of Kakira Sugar Limited
• Initiating development projects for the school and advising stakeholders on how to mobilize resources for their implementation.
• Supervising and upraising all the staff and employees of the institution and assessing their performance
• Participating in the implementation of education sector reforms related to Secondary Education
• Preparing progress and summery reports for presentation and submitting to the Chief Education Administrators, Board of Governors and the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Establishing and maintaining relationships with other educational institutions.
• Directing activities concerning student admissions, provision of supplies and welfare services.
• Planning and chairing meetings on the school.
• Conducting any other related duties as may be assigned by the Management.

Qualification:
Applicants should be holders of minimum of a Master Degree in Education or its equivalent from recognized Institutions and should be registered with the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Knowledge & Experience:
Applicants should have a minimum of fifteen (15) years teaching experience, five of which must have been at a level of Principle Education Officer with administrative experience such as, Head of Department, Director of Studies, House Teacher, or Deputy Head Teacher level. Must have attended at least four workshops/seminars and four short courses relevant to the profession.
Must have attended short courses in Human Resource and Financial Management
Must have knowledge of secondary school curriculum and management of vocational curriculum (DIT) is essential.
Evidence of research work in relevant discipline or other academic field.
