Job Description
The Benedictine Eye Hospital ( BEH ) is a private not for profit institution of the Benedictine Fathers of Tororo, offering Comprehensive Eye Care services and Community Based Rehabilitation {CBRI to Persons with disabilities (PWDs]. The hospital functions in accordance with the National Hospital Policy of the Republic of Uganda with technical guidance from the Uganda Catholic Medical bureau {UCMB], Tororo District Health Office, Local Government Authorities our partners in the health sector and our beneficiaries. BEH is currently seeking to recruit a competent individual for the Hospital Director of Administration role.
Job Title: Hospital Director of Administration
Duration of Employment: Filled Term Contract (Three years renewable)
Working nature: Full—time assignment
Job location: Tororo, Uganda.
Reports to: Executive Director.
Salary: UGX 5,000,000 Gross per month
Age: Age of 45 years and above is highly recommended .
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the overall hospital operational and financial management by providing leadership and guidance in fundraising, budgeting, and planning.
• Lead the development planning and implementation of the Hospitals Organisation strategy.
• Lead the development planning and implementation of the Hospitals Organisation strategy.
• Responsible for building and maintaining effective relationships between its internal stakeholders, key external stakeholders and the community at large.
• Oversee the hospital’s legal compliance with national statutes, legislative and donor requirements, and best practice.
• Ensure the implementation and updating of the hospital policies, procedures and practices.
• Lead the initiative for lobbying, advocacy and resource mobilisation by designing and implementing mechanisms for raising funds for the continuity of the hospital.
• Develop partnerships, working with key partners, support services and suppliers to ensure optimal functioning of the hospital.
• Lead and build a motivated performance driven hospital team.
• Establish and maintain systems for managing hospital‘s assets and inventory, and to ensure a continuous flow of hospital supplies for proper functioning of the hospital.
• Oversee day to day operations of the hospital as they pertain to quality assurance, patient and facility data management and reporting.
• Prepare and present technical and financial reports to the Board and funders.
• Oversee the procurement and disposal of medical and non-Medical equipment and supplies.
• As an Ex-officio member of the Board, act as a minute secretary to the Board
Qualifications
• A minimum of a University degree in Medicine, Health Sciences, Business Administration, Management science, Public Administration or other relevant qualifications.
• Must also have a Master’s Degree in a Health-related field, Management Science, Hospital Management, Business Administration, Public Management and Administration or other relevant qualifications.
• Additional qualifications in Administrative law, Management Accounting, Project Management and Procurement will be an added advantage.
Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years relevant work experience with
• 5 years in a Senior Management Position.
• Experience working in an appropriate Healthcare Institution..
Skills and Knowledge:
• Solid administrative knowledge and experience is critical
• Knowledge and experience in strategic planning, budgeting and business development.
• Excellent computer knowledge and skills.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Good Planning and organizing skills.
• Innovativeness, creativity and flexibility.
• Must be a person of unquestionable integrity.
