Job Description
Responsible for delivering the Human Resource strategy in line with the Bank’s overall strategy through aligning HR objectives with those of the respective stakeholders in the respective units. The HRBP will serve as the initial point of contact/ support to the Heads of department on Human Resource related needs, especially talent management, resourcing, Organizational development, reward and performance management, employment relations, Learning & Development
KEY RESULT AREAS/ DELIVERABLES:
• Assess current and future staff / HR business needs, and design appropriate HR & Organizational Design strategies, plans, and interventions to ensure that the Bank is appropriately resourced in line with its business plan.
• Drive organizational change initiatives by ensuring that appropriate structures, processes are in place in line with the growth strategies of the Bank. This includes involvement in Job Evaluation, alignment of Organization structures and development of job descriptions.
• Evaluate the Bank’s existing talent pool and develop interventions to effectively and efficiently manage the talent to support the delivery of business requirements in line with the Bank’s Talent Management policy/framework.
• Monitor the implementation of the Bank’s performance management system. This will include guiding and coaching line managers on effective target setting, coordinating, and presiding over performance moderation exercises, tracking all employees on performance improvement plans and ensure closure.
• Review staff productivity and engage the respective Line Managers, align staff to the expected performance standards and engage respective line managers on corrective and collective interventions.
• Drive the staff engagement agenda of the Bank at all levels of the employment cycle and liaise with various stakeholders to address areas of concern.
• Advise all employees on HR policies and legislation which concern them, e.g. Bank Policies, code of Conduct etc.
• Identify training needs for the respective units/departments with support from the Learning & Development function and engage line managers on development of career maps and learning paths for job families in those units.
• Develop and support Implementation of retention strategies to enable the Bank to retain its critical talent as well as maintain overall attrition at acceptable levels.
• Analyze trends and prepare analytical periodical reports in partnership with HR shared services in order develop and implement customer centric solutions, programs, and policies to drive Bank performance and efficiency
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• A minimum of five years’ experience in HR.
• Sound Understanding of Ugandan labour laws and HR best practices.3. Extensive knowledge in technical HR facets and emerging HR trends.
• The ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in written form in a professional manner is deemed essential.
• Ability to demonstrate positive image and role model PBU’s values and leadership behaviours.
• A sense of ownership and pride in performance and its impact on the company’s success.
• Must be a person of impeccable integrity
• EDUCATION AND TRAINING
• Bachelor of Human Resources Management, Organizational and industrial psychology or related field.
• Possession of a Certified banking qualification or Master’s degree in a relevant field would be an added advantage.
• PGD HRM is added advantage.
