FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated locally driven solutions. In Uganda. FH1360 implements several projects including USAID’s Maternal Child Health and Nutrition (MCHN) Activity, whose aim is to strengthen the Government of Uganda performance in implementing strategies to improve MCHN outcomes. We seek applications for the following two vacancies: .

Title: Human Resource Officers Temporary
POSITION 2:
Duration: 6 months
Location: Country Office Uganda Kampala
Supervisor: Country Representative

Job Description Summary:
This post is not more than 6 months and should be available to start on or before 12th October 2020. The person recruited will provide operational support in several areas including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration and general documentation. Maintains employee hardcopy and softcopy HR files as required. Inputs employee personal data into the human resources information system (HRIS) database and generates reports as needed for HR department usage. Serves as backup point of contact for employees with questions related to their personal employee information. Processes various forms related to documenting human resources activities such as new-hire, change-of-status, medical and other benefits, leave tracking, performance evaluations, benefits, terminations, etc.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Serves as point of contact for employees on HR-related matters.
• Independently and accurately responds to employee requests.
• Manages recruitment process for the country. Ensures all recruitments are done in accordance with best practices.
• Manages the processing of employee welfare/benefits schemes like medical and pensions.
• Working closely with Finance, support the payroll system for the office to ensure timely and accurate salary payments and remittance.
• Processes forms and system updates related to new hires, change-of status, compensation, benefits changes, separations, etc.
• Ensures employee data in HRIS is accurate.
• Conducts new-hire orientation and separation process/exit interviews.
• Acts as custodian of country HR records and manages access by other staff to those records.
• Maintains accurate filing systems of all HR records.
• Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.
• Manages continuous performance review process for the office
• Provides comprehensive support to ensure HR related operations are processed daily in a quickly, efficient and proactive manner.
• Works with the Regional Human Resources and CO leadership to develop human resource services such as orientation programs, recruitment programs, etc.
• Immediately informs the team management / technical manager on issues and HR-related concerns, including changes to the labor laws.
• Ensures prompt response and resolution to employee related concerns.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:
• Ability to handle oral and written communications independently.
• Able to communicate effectively and tactfully with different levels of staff, individuals from diverse cultures, and the public.
• Demonstrates ability to assume sole and independent responsibility for various assigned projects.
• Has in-depth knowledge of payroll system and processes.
• Can accurately complete full pay cycle processing.
• Identifies and solves holistic business problems through broad and up-to date knowledge of employment law, organizational behavior, change management, best practices and company policy
• Performs detail-oriented work with a high level of accuracy.
• Must exhibit high levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical values at all times.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities.
• Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records management techniques
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to travel to implementation districts a minimum of 25%.

Qualifications
• BS/BA or Advanced Diploma degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent with 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• MS/MA degree in Human Resource, Business Administration, Social Sciences or its recognized equivalent is an added advantage)
• Demonstrated success in multicultural environments is required.
• At least 1-year HR Experience of which experience in an international development organization is an advantage.
