Job Description


Qualifications:
• Preferably a lecturer in the given university. However, also the university alumni and students may apply.
• Must have a business initiative – be it even at ideation stage.

Remuneration:
This will be contingent on whether the successful candidate is a lecturer or an alumnus or student of a given university as well as on the achievement of the goals set from the duties and responsibilities here-below. However, on whole, the remuneration will be attractive.

Duties and Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will be based in his/her University in question and reports to GUBCCo Managing Director, and carries out the following duties:
• Be the GUBCCo Resource Person in the given university.
• Link GUBCCo to the University administration – the MOU on has been prepared.
• Coordinate with the University administration on GUBCCo activities in the University in question.
• Set up the GUBCCo Club in the University in question.
• Oversee the running of the GUBCCo Club in the given university.
• Elect the GUBCCo Club Leadership in the University in question – the GUBCCo Club internal leadership in the University is overly the students’ affairs, business and responsibility.
• Ensure the University communities’ active participation in GUBCCo Club’s activities, especially students and academic staff.
• Take the GUBCCo Club to the University’s surrounding communities (How? GUBCCo will guide the successful candidates).
• Act as the Head of the Stock Exchange for GUBCCo Shares in the universities.

Method of Application

Applicants are required to submit their applications accompanied by detailed CV; certified copies of relevant academic documents; appointments – in case of lecturer applicants; admission – in case of student applicants; other employment documents – more so in case of alumnus applicants; national ID; and Value Proportion Canvas (VPC), Business Model Canvas (BMC) and at most a 5-page Business Plan of the Applicant’s Business Initiative.
Applicants should also indicate three names, telephone contacts and e-mail addresses of professional referees attached to the very University in question who can attest to their competences for the job.

For universities in Uganda, it would be good to submit the application by 30 September 2021, while for universities from the rest of the world, the applications will be received on rolling basis.
