dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit for the position of Insurance Operations Officer- Assets and Staff.
LOCATION: Kampala
REPORTING TO: Manager- Insurance Operations
JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Manager- Insurance Operations, the role holder will handle insurance for all the Bank’s assets and staff.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Provide technical assistance to the bank units with regard to Bankers Blanket Bond, GPA, Medical, Motor, All risks, Fire and related perils, and any other insurance for the Bank business, assets, and staff.
• Attend to dfcu Bank specific claims with regard to Bank assets, liabilities, and staff; assist the concerned units in reporting and handling the claims for losses arising.
• Track and review insurance policies to ensure they remain fit for purpose.
• Place cover on new assets, have all risks insured and premium remitted to manage claims.
• Maintain an up-to-date insurance database for the Bank’s Assets and liabilities, and staff for smooth insurance operations.
• Work with the appointed brokers and the business to gather and review information to place cover for dfcu Bank’s insurance arrangement.
• Compliance with regulatory (BOU, IRA, FIA, and related regulations), as well dfcu Bank policies and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
• A Bachelor’s Degree.
• COP / CIU certification.
• 2 years at supervisory level.
• At least 6 years working experience in Insurance / Banking in related field.
• Knowledge of practical application in most insurance packages and policies.
• High level of integrity and ethical standards.
• Attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and ability to demonstrate high degree of accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, communications and independent judgement skills.
• Good organisation skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills.
