Job Description
Uganda Martyrs University is a faith-based private, not-for-profit, University and an equal opportunity employer owned by the Episcopal Conference of the Catholic Bishops of Uganda. The University is looking for suitably qualified persons to fill the following administrative and academic position:
Faculty of Science
Department of Computer Science and Information Technology
Position: Lecturer – Computer Science (1 Position)
Duty Station: UMU Main Campus Nkozi
Reports to: Dean, Faculty of Science
Academic Qualifications and Experience
The candidate should be in possession of a relevant Master’s Degree in Computer
• Should at least have a second class honors – Upper division at undergraduate level
• Should be well versed with the theoretical computer science
• Should also be grounded in computer programming and software development, carry or carried out Research in the field of computer science
• Should have some teaching experience in subjects like Compiler design, formal verification or digital signal processing, a PhD is an added advantage.
• S/he should at least have a second class honors – Upper division, Bachelor’s Degree in ICT field.
• S/he should have a minimum teaching experience of 3 years at Assistant Lecturer or Lecturer level in a recognized University or in a related activity in a recognized institution.
• S/he should have a satisfactory record of teaching, research, publication and service to the academic and wider community.
