Job Description


Primary Functions:
Responsible for carrying out certification and verification lifting certification process and handling as per agreed scheme and in accordance with specified requirements during installation & commissioning stages.

Responsibilities:
• Participate in drafting Verification & Certification Activity Reports (VCARS) specifically for lifting equipment and components, defining Scope of work & budget on the subject.
• Perform site surveillance to certify and verify the quality control of lifting equipment-related works, including the installation and testing.
• Lead audit activities, including conducting opening and closing meetings with the Quality Control (QC) manager and relevant stakeholders.
• Review and verify installation plans and design specifications for the lifting equipment to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Audit the installation process to ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, and other relevant safety standards.
• Verify operator training and certification records to ensure qualification for the specific lifting equipment type.
• Communicate audit findings related and conduct follow-up activities to ensure effective resolution of identified issues.
• Prepare and submit detailed inspection reports after each site visit.
• Review documents such as test reports and Certificates of Analysis (COAs) to verify compliance with specifications, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and work method statements.
• Witness the receipt and verification of materials and equipment in the fabrication shop yard or installation site, ensuring they meet the project’s specifications and quality standards.

Qualification:
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• At least 10 years of lifting inspection experience.
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 3 LEEA Diploma certificates, including LEEA 1, LEEA 2, LEEA 3, and LEEA 4.
• Strong engineering inspection judgment with knowledge in diverse NDT techniques, especially MPI.
• Demonstrated knowledge of lifting industry standards, such as BS EN ISO 10855, BS EN 13414-1&2, BS EN 1677-1,2,3,4; BS 7121-1,2,3, etc.
• Experience working on international projects.
• Willingness to travel to remote inspection sites frequently or be site-based according to project requirements.
• Good health is required.
• Strong executive ability, clear working ideas, excellent communication skills, team spirit, and good interpersonal skills.
