Mitooma People’s Development Trust SACCO limited (MPDT SACCO) is one of the lead financial institutions in greater Bushenyi with five network branches in Mitooma and neighboring districts, an equal opportunity employer, registered under REG No. 6517 with the Registrar of co-operatives incorporated under cooperatives Act 1991.

Our mission is to provide quality and appropriate financial services to the low income earners empowering them to improve on their standards of living in greater Bushenyi and neighboring districts.

MPDT SACCO is looking for dynamic and energetic individuals to fill the vacant positions of Loans Officers and Branch Manager.

1. JOB TITLE: LOANS OFFICER.

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 2

REPORTS TO: CREDIT MANAGER

SALARY: ATTRACTIVE

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To plan for client mobilization meetings a head of time and organize such meetings in such a way as to ensure that they perform to expectations.
  2. To be responsible for providing orientation training-to all newly recruited clients in order to ensure that they may fully understand the type of assistance that the MITOOMA PEOPLES TRUST SACCO gives to its clients, and the role that they as beneficiaries are expected to play in their relationship with the MITOOMA PEOPLES TRUST SACCO.
  3. Attend to clients’ queries and bear overall responsibility for receiving and processing loan applications from your area of jurisdiction, giving clients’ timely feedback as appropriate.
  4. To attend group meetings and provide guidance to them in order that they may remain focused so that they may be able to realize the aims and objectives for which they are established.

5. To appraise loan applications and recommend to your supervisor as appropriate.

6. To be responsible for initiating and for the timely processing of all disbursements for approved loans falling in your area of responsibility including receiving, checking and filling all documentation that is part of conditions for such disbursement as stipulated in the loan agreement.

7. To carry out regular client monitoring visits with a view to ensuring that loan funds are used for the purpose for which they are granted, that clients are continuously reminded of their repayment obligations, and to provide technical support to clients as and when needed.

8. To market loan and savings products of Mitooma People’s Development Trust SACCO limited.

9. To maintain a good relationship between the MITOOMA PEOPLES TRUST SACCO and the group executives all the time, so as to ensure that the organization shall receive maximum cooperation from them in its monitoring of clients and in the control of any delinquent clients that may arise.

10. Prepare and submit loan portfolio reports to the supervisor within the prescribed time frame in order to facilitate timely management action.

11. Prepare and submit on a timely basis, any other reports as may be required by Management and donors to the MITOOMA PEOPLES TRUST SACCO.

12. Initiate and, with the approval of the supervisor, take responsibility for the recovery proceedings against any loan defaulters that may exist in his her Portfolio.

13. Attend to any matters as delegated by the immediate supervisor

Desired Qualifications and attributes

  1. Should have at least a Diploma in Business Administration /Accounting or finance related course from recognized institution.
  2. Should be computer literate.
  3. Working experience of at least one year in a recognized financial institution.
  4. Should be capable of riding a motorcycle
  5. Should be trainable and able to work in any of our SACCO branches.
  6. Should be capable of working under pressure to attain set performance targets
  7. Not exceeding 35 years of age.

2. JOB TITLE: BRANCH MANAGER

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1

REPORTS TO : GENERAL MANAGER

JOB PURPOSE:

To supervise work performed at the branch, manage branch operations, prepare branch performance reports and foster a positive working environment to ensure customer satisfaction.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Direct branch operations, ensure etiquette customer services, branch administration and sales
  2. Assess local market conditions and identify current and prospective sales Opportunities
  3. Develop forecasts, financial objectives and business plans
  4. Meet performance targets from time to time
  5. Manage budget and allocate funds appropriately.
  6. Bring out the best of branch’s personnel by providing training, coaching, development and motivation,
  7. Locate areas of improvement and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
  8. Prepare and submit branch performance reports and make recommendations where necessary.
  9. Preparing periodic reports to head office and other stakeholders at any time of need.
  10. Any other duties assigned by the General Manager

QUALIFICATIONS AND DESIRED ATTRIBUTES

  • Should possess Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or related financial field.
  • Should be computer literate.
  • At least two years experience in similar position or working in a financial environment in a reputable institution
    Should be aged not exceeding 45 years.
  • Should be trainable and capable of working in any of our branches.
  • High integrity and team building skills.
  • Should be capable of working under minimum supervision.
