About the Job

The Logistics Site Manager is responsible for overseeing all logistics activities within a designated sub-delegation.

S/he ensures that comprehensive logistics systems are effectively implemented and operational, in alignment with the ICRC’s standards. This includes providing both technical and operational support for key logistics functions such as purchasing, warehousing, stock management, and import-export activities. Additionally, the Logistics Site Manager manages the collection and reporting of logistics-related data, ensuring accurate statistical tracking. The role also involves coordinating logistical processes to optimize efficiency and meet operational requirements, while ensuring compliance with the ICRC’s logistics policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the Regional Logistics Country Manager to set priorities, objectives, and strategies based on needs.
  • Implements logistics procedures according to country strategy and financial rules.
  • Ensures proper use of logistics IT tools, maintaining data integrity for activities such as Tableau and Logistics Fields Checklist.
  • Maintains an efficient supply chain and adapts infrastructure to meet evolving needs.
  • Manages statistical reporting, inventories, and supply-chain requests in a timely manner.
  • Oversees procurement, quality management, and
    warehouse operations in coordination with the LSC.
  • Supervises fleet management, transport, and distribution, ensuring a seamless supply pipeline and efficient import/export activities.
  • Maintains constructive dialogue with authorities, obtains permits, and ensures compliance with legal obligations for operations.
  • Manages finances for the assigned cost centers, mitigating risks through controls outlined in the Logistics Risk and Control Matrix.
  • Provides leadership and coaching to logistics staff, ensuring capacity-building, performance management, and coordination of operations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree or higher in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in English, with additional fluency in French considered highly advantageous.
  • Advanced computer literacy, with a strong command of logistics management software and tools.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in logistics, ideally within commercial, military, or humanitarian sectors, with substantial experience in leadership and management positions.
  • Demonstrated expertise leadership, team management, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and client-focused service.
