Job Description


Create opportunity, drive sales and develop major strategic channels working with potential resellers, system integrators, new partners/ organizations including MTN Opcos.

Drives Sales within multiple strategic partner relationships for MTN Mobile Money including developing or co-creating value propositions in conjunction with partners or organizations to realize existing and new value streams. Implement affordable and targeted sales opportunities across the region, including MTN Opco’s and beyond to effectively promote MTN Mobile Money products, services and value propositions.

Main Job Functions:

  • Assess current landscape of the channel space and then develop the proper initiatives to ensure delivery, execution and support of this space to achieve identified channel subscriber and revenue targets.
  • Identify products and solutions inventory mapped with the proper channels, MTN Opco’s and partners within the MTN portfolio to ensure effective program delivery
  • Consistently communicate with direct sales leadership, and interface with other key stakeholders and programs for relevant strategy development
  • Monitor and support all channel and partner program activities.
  • Build relationships with commercial partners to enable joint initiatives for B2B, B2C Sales
  • Create a more cohesive and effective cross-departmental delivery of commercial opportunities and closely integrate with Project management/ delivery team
  • Deliver increased revenue and margin through distribution of product range within the partners
  • Ensure that all necessary partner reports are produced accurately and on time, including producing and submitting the monthly sales reports.
  • Keep abreast of market developments in the broader telecom industry landscape.
  • Provide appropriate feedback from trade partners in crisis situation.
  • Manage all delegated budgets using correct financial procedures.
  • Develop global corporate customer and partner data base and seek commercial initiatives to expand revenue opportunities
  • Create commercial processes to support customer business requirements in collaboration with other stakeholders such as B.I, IT etc.
  • Develop Sales forecasting and recommend overall commercial approach aligned with MTN Mobile Money plans and marketing strategy.
  • Assist in the preparation of the Company Business Plan, by preparing the departmental budget and business plan by identifying CAPEX/OPEX requirements, operational and personnel requirements to achieve strategic objectives
  • Work with Business Intelligence analyst to provide high quality timely market information for all required reports – business plans, market intelligence reports, global intelligence reports, market profiles etc

Qualifications

Job Requirements (Education, Experience and Competencies)

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent Business qualification

Experience:

  • Working experience in sales management position for more than 5 years in a fast-paced multinational company or in a highly competitive industry dealing in semi-durable high-tech goods that require after-sales service or experience in an ICT environment. Or at least 10 years’ experience in relationship management, sales and/or marketing role in a service industry.
