Job Description


Pride Microfinance Limited (MDI) is a Microfinance Deposit- taking Institution regulated and supervised by Bank of Uganda (BoU) under the MDI Act, 2003 and MDI Regulations, 2004 with a capital base of Ugx. 168.6 billion. Pride is an equal opportunity employer looking for competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacancy of Manager Credit Recovery.

The Manager Credit Recovery will report to Head of Credit and will be based at Head office. He/she will be responsible for developing, planning and implementing collection and recovery strategies for non-performing assets to minimize credit losses in an efficient manner and in compliance with the law.

Specific responsibilities include: –
• Participate in the development, implementation and management of the department’s strategy in line with the Pride’s business plan.
• Analyze delinquent accounts and recommend or take appropriate recovery actions, report to relevant business lines and Management regarding the credit risk.
• Assess and make recommendation in the recruitment of auctioneers and bailiffs for the entire network and monitor their performance to achieve compliance with service level agreements and business targets within relevant laws.
• Build the Pride’s debt recovery capabilities (internal and external) and manage performance in order to achieve business objectives.
• Ensure timely consolidation and submission of management reports for decision making.
• Identify, analyses and monitor all the material risks related to the debt collection process and propose action plans to mitigate risks.
• Initiate customer engagement to balance the customer’s and the Pride’s business needs for organizational sustainability.
• Initiate the design and formulation of debt collection and recovery strategies, participate in the development of relevant policies, procedures and guidelines and ensure dissemination and implementation across the network in order to achieve organizational objectives in compliance with the law.

Minimum academic qualifications, Experience & competences
• A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• At least 6 years’ credit experience in a supervised financial institution with at least 3 years in credit recovery.
• Should have good track record in credit management and recovery business.
• He/she should not be more than 45 years of age.
