Job Description
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Oversee the development and implementation of Uganda’s tourism marketing strategy and destination Uganda brand strategy in order to position Uganda as a tourism destination of choice in the world.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Develop and coordinate the implementation of destination Uganda marketing strategy
• Oversee the implementation and review of the destination brand strategy
• Coordinate the development and implementation of advertising campaigns and activations in the domestic, regional and international markets
• Monitor marketing trends and conduct competitor analysis, collect and analyse data to maintain competitive advantage
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Mass Communication, Economics, Commerce, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality or other relevant degree from
• a reputable university.
• Master’s Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Business Administration, Tourism and Hospitality or Marketing.
• Professional marketing qualification is an added advantage such as the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or any other relevant professional qualification. d) 10 years’ relevant experience with Syears in a senior management position in a reputable, large organization.
SKILLS
• Excellent project management skills
• Proven ability to develop marketing strategies and market intelligence briefs.
• Ability to examine and study a target audience/market segment to gather insights that inform the board’s marketing strategy and products
• Ability to direct and guide marketing decisions with budgetary analysis
• Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
• Excellent leadership skills.
