Job Description
Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO) www.ambso.org is a ‘Private Not for profit (PNFP) organization working in partnership with Uro Care Hospital, with Head offices at Nansana, along Hoima road and satellite office in Hoima. AMBSO conducts Clinical research, community-based health surveillance research as well as health Care services delivery among communities in Wakiso and Hoima Districts.
We are recruiting experienced persons to join our research team to support the implementation of this study. Applications are therefore invited from qualified and competent AMBSO staff to fill these vacant positions that will be based at our Kampala offices.
Location: Uro care-AMBSO office, Kampala
Reporting to: Study Principal Investigator (PI)
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Supervising study nurses, clinicians and vaccination teams in their day to day activities.
• Conduct patient evaluations including screening and assessment for eligibility.
• Supervising and ensuring accurate and proper completion on enrollment activities, including informed.
• Consenting procedures.
• Facilitating and monitoring of scheduling follow up, including auditing of case report forms
• Supervision of daily clinic operations including specimens’ correction, treatment of infections and identifying state of study interest such as pregnancy.
• Review clinical records to ensure completeness.
• Review, classify and make recommendations on all adverse events reported by the study team.
• Communicate with the study supervisor and PI to complete required action for reporting and management of adverse events and correct study forms for accuracy and completion daily.
• Communicate regularly with project leaders about study progress and issues through regular meetings.
• Conducting and attend regular study clinical staff meetings.
• Participate in staff training.
• Maintaining good communication between the study team and senior research team.
Essential Qualifications/Requirements;
• Bachelor’s degree in Medicine and surgery (MBChB) from a recognized University.
• Full registration and annual practicing license with the Uganda medical and dental
• Practitioner’s council is a must
• Prior experience working in a clinical trial is desirable
• Evidence of training in Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Human Subject Protection (HSP).
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
