Job Description


Minimum Qualification
Applicants should be Ugandans holding an Honours Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology; or Atmospheric Sciences from a recognized University/Institution. OR An Honours Bachelor’s Degree with a bias in Physics; or Mathematics; or Statistics; or Hydrology; or Computer Science; or Agriculture plus a Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) in Meteorology from a recognized University/Institution

Working Experience

Duties
The incumbent will be responsible to the Senior Meteorological Officer (Instruments) for performing the following duties:-

– Operating and monitoring meteorological instruments, including weather stations, sensors, and data loggers,

– Performing routine maintenance and calibration of meteorological instruments,
– Identifying and report any technical issues or malfunctions to senior staff,
– Providing technical support in the collection, processing, and analysis of meteorological data from instruments,

– Providing technical support for troubleshooting and resolving equipment-related issues,
– Undertaking installation and setup of new instruments and systems,
– Updating the records of equipment performance, maintenance activities, and calibration results,
– Coordinating with vendors and service providers as needed for equipment repairs and upgrades;
– Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
