Job Description
The Data scientist/Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Expert will be responsible for supporting all projects in Uganda to develop and run functional Monitoring and Evaluation frameworks reflecting programmatic information management, monitoring and evaluation, and learning. S/he will ensure that projects’ data are collected, processed and used to improve ongoing programs, compliance to donors, Swisscontact’s reporting, and image building. S/he will support projects to incorporate all best practices of M&E to inform business development, communications and effective program management during implementation through a culture of adaptive learning and management. S/he, will work under the supervision of the project manager collaborate to develop, coordinate, maintain, and constantly improve the M&E system. He/she will also provide key information and data required by the Knowledge and Communication expert to implement a communications strategy that promotes Swisscontact’s presence and visibility.
Qualifications and skills
• MBA, Master’s Degree in monitoring, and evaluation, International Development, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Social Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years’ experience in highly analytical and data-driven private sector roles and/or qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, report writing, and project cycle in both development and humanitarian context.
• High-level understanding of M&E principles and techniques, data collection, and analysis.
• Experienced Microsoft Office user, and preferably qualitative and quantitative data analysis software (SPSS, STATA, etc.)
