Job Description


Kyagalanyi Coffee Ltd. [KCL] is a member of the Volcafe group, the coffee division of ED&F Man. It is the oldest and largest coffee exporter in Uganda and the first to become ISO 9001:2008 certified. We buy Arabica and Robusta in all coffee producing regions and export about 15% of Uganda’s coffee production to over 30 consuming countries around the world. The company heavily invests in Uganda’s coffee infrastructure and people. Our quality-oriented business strategy aims to lift up the entire coffee sector and improve the quality perception of Ugandan Arabica and Robusta around the globe.

To ensure we can deliver on our service level to our global network, we are looking for an IT Officer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
• Key contact point and lead for AX implementations, enhancements, troubleshooting and serve as a user experience partner.
• Full ownership of all IT hardware which entails, maintenance of an inventory list with complete compliance check for company devices like PC’s and phones, maintenance of devices like printers, servers, and any other IT hardware.
• Sourcing of all hardware and software requirements in coordination with group IT where needed and within the scope of the company’s IT policy and ticket management for users where needed.
• Responsible for IT budget for the organisation and ensuring adherence to the same as well as reporting any deviations, improvements, and opportunities for sustainable cost savings.
• Ownership of all service provider contracts including contract negotiation, renewals, record keeping and ensuring delivery by service providers in line with their contracts.
• IT policy champion for the organisation, ensuring compliance for all staff, on boarding for new staff and periodic training as required for all staff.
• Ensure complete adherence to the procurement policy of the organisation which managing procurement of any IT equipment
• Ownership and maintenance of all IT consumables like cartridges, various power and connectivity cables and any other equipment. This includes monthly reporting to CFO on purchases, usage, and any requirements.
• Ensure sign off and recovery of all hardware for exiting employees in collaboration with HR and departmental heads as applicable.
• Champion ERP maturity dashboard/ score cards showing data lead lags, user maturity, and usage of value adding solutions.
• IT security champion for the organisation, including coordinating with group IT for security checks where needed and ensuring user adherence to security policies.
• Ensure Internet connectivity and stability across all the required company sites and manage all internet service providers including ensuring any downtimes are resolved and any downtimes past the contract periods are appropriately discounted where applicable.
• Champion any new ERP or systems implementations as the lead program manager to ensure timely, cost effective and well managed successful implementation.
• Generate monthly usage reports of IT resources as needed
• Manage any crisis events impacting hardware and/or software for the company and liaise with group support where needed
• Schedule and plan for upgrades and security backups of hardware and software systems and ensure secure access for all users on company networks.
• Ensure privacy of any employee data collected within the scope of the IT service provision as appropriate.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience
We are looking for someone with the following skills, experience, and knowledge:
• University Graduate with a relevant degree within a computing discipline
• 5+ Years in a full scope IT role with demonstrated progressive increase in responsibilities.
• Experience of Microsoft Dynamics AX global implementation
• Experience of enterprise scale ERP implementations like SAP etc. is an added advance.
• Part of a team delivering complex integrations projects.
• Implementation experience of Dynamics AX Core Financials, Trade & Logistics, and production processes & appropriate certification.
• Good skills in all other functional capabilities of AX Dynamics.
• Demonstrable knowledge of Dynamics AX ERP best practices including master data management and security implementation adopting segregation of duties.
• Good understanding of Microsoft Dynamics technical landscape – Including SQL, AOS and SharePoint.
• Ability to collaborate and partner with department heads and users to ensure seamless user experience with all IT hardware/ software.
• Able to define business process maps and collaborate with IT partners to implement.
• Good presentation and demonstration skills
• Experience of physical commodities business or trading business with large scape operations
• Working knowledge of finance practices for GL, AR, AP & part of a team delivering complex IT projects.
• Good understanding of architectural patterns such as web, thick client, and cloud.
• Solid experience in maintaining a complete IT framework for an organization.
