Job Description
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CORSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission).
CORSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability
CORSU seeks to employ professionally suitable and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions:
Position: Orthopedic Surgeon-part time (3)
Department: Orthopedics
Reports to: Head of Orthopedics
• Overall Job Purpose:
To provide a high standard of care (diagnosis & management) to patients with all musculoskeletal conditions presenting to the hospital. To assist the Head of the orthopedic department in developing the orthopedic services. Involvement in teaching and training all staff and visiting residents or medical students
• Detailed Roles and responsibilities (refer to the JD on CORSU website) Academic/Professional qualifications, work experience, knowledge & skills
• MBCHB or equivalent
• MMED or equivalent (fellowship)
• Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioner’s Council (UMDPC) 3 years’ post qualification experience in Orthopedic Surgery with a bias to pediatrics.
• Good communication skills.
• Good computer knowledge and skills
