Job Description


Africa Medical and Behavioral Sciences Organization (AMBSO) www.ambso.org is a ‘Private Not for profit (PNFP) organization working in partnership with Uro Care Hospital, with its Head offices at Nansana, along Hoima Road and satellite offices in Hoima and Masaka. AMBSO conducts a wide range of activities of public health interest including clinical research, community-based health surveillance research; programs for health care service delivery and capacity building among health care workers and community health workers.
With funding from Gilead Sciences Inc. and in collaboration with MUJHU care limited, AMBSO will participate in a six year multi-site PURPOSE 1 study that is aimed at evaluating the efficacy of Lenacapavir (LEN) and Emitricitabine/Tenofovir Alafenamide (F/TAF) in preventing HIV transmission among adolescent girls and young women (AGYWs) at high risk of acquiring HIV infection. AMBSO is seeking for qualified, committed and reliable professionals to work at its Masaka and Hoima research sites. Applications are therefore invited from interested persons to fill the position listed above.

Job location: Hoima and Masaka sites
Reporting to: Study site coordinator

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Maintain professional GCP/HSP accreditation and complete study specific training as required.
• Adhere and enforce general and study specific internal drug policies and procedures.
• Identify the drug requirements for the institution including study specific drug requirements and general drug requirements.
• Take lead in stock management including Forecasting, procurement, requisition, stock verification, storage and dispensing of all medicines used in the study.
• Work with the data team to ensure accurate allocation of pharmaceutical regimens for respective clients.
• Report to stakeholders on medicines usage/management and provide pharmacological information to the clinic team and patients/participants.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary study team to perform delegated duties and ensure timely communication and coordination.
• Participate in any other related duties reasonably assigned by the senior study team.

Essential qualifications/requirements
• A degree in Pharmacy obtained from a recognized university.
• At least 2 years’ working experience in a busy pharmaceutical setup.
• Experience working with clinical trials is an added advantage.
• Good organizational skills, multitasking, strong documentation skills and possess strong
interpersonal and communication skills.
