Job title: 5 Principal Engineer
Reports To: Manager Projects

Main Purpose:
To implement capital investment projects that allow the Corporation to sustainably meet water and distribution demands to the satisfaction of the customers.

Key Responsibilities / Key Result Areas
• Prepare detailed designs for water and waste water infrastructure
• Prepare budgets and work plans for Project
• Prepare tender documents
• Prepare contracts
• Review designs during project implementation
• Mentor project staff and identify capacity building needs
• Any other duties assigned

The Person
In order to be considered for this position, the applicant must have a working experience of at least five (05) years and should possess the following:

Qualifications;
• First Class degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university.
• Shall be a Registered Engineer or have evidence of significant progress made towards registration as an Engineer in Uganda or a professional bodies.

Experience
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in design or construction management of water supply and sewerage infrastructure including water and wastewater treatment.
• Good knowledge in the fields of structural engineering and geo-technics, and engineering surveying.
• Good knowledge of engineering design and project management software
• Age Limit: must be below 35 years of age.

Skills
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent organization and administrative skills, with high attention to detail
• Well-developed problem solving skills with an ability to remain calm in a challenging situation
• Ability to be innovative and improve practices, documents and processes
• Highly competent in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Projects, AutoCAD, EPANET, WaterCAD, etc.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Willingness to show flexibility in work hours some evening and weekend work will be required
• Ability to prepare and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
