Job Description


Assist in formulating, reviewing and maintaining standard operating procedures for use in the work place (laboratories).

Key, Duties and Responsibilities
• Generate reports, inventories and orders in the Unit;
• Generate budgets and account for use of physical resources of the Unit;
• Manage the use of laboratory equipment and facilities;
• Requisition, maintain and account for financial and other resources;
• Prepare and supervise student’s practicals;
• Liaise with and provide support to the academic staff in the teaching of practicals;
• Implement and maintain guidelines and regulations to ensure quality assurance, control and safety in the unit;
• Induct and mentor junior staff in the unit on technical skills;
• Perform any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications
Honors Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Laboratory Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology or Science Technology or in any other relevant field.

Skills/Competences
• Customer care;
• Ability to communicate precisely and concisely;
• Analytical skills;
• Proficiency in using machines and computers
