JOB DETAILS:

The Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and Central Africa (ASARECA) is a non-profit sub-regional organization of the National Agricultural Research Systems (NARS) of twelve countries: Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Madagascar, and Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. The core function of the Association is coordinating and convening human, physical, financial and institutional capital to implement Agricultural Research for Development (ARAB) initiatives in the Eastern and Central Africa.
ASARECA now desires to recruit into its staff, a suitably qualified individual, with qualifications and experience as detailed below for the position of Procurement Assistant.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the position holder will provide support for timely implementation of the procurement process in accordance to the procurement plan which will guarantee timely acquisition of goods, works and services guided by applicable provisions of the ASARECA Operations manual
Duration of Service: The period of the services will be 2 years, with possibility of contract extension
dependent on performance and funds availability.
Duty Station: The Procurement Assistant will work full time at the ASARECA Secretariat based in Entebbe, Uganda.
Reports to: The Operations Manager.
