Job Description


Position & Grade: Procurement Officer
Reports to: Assistant Procurement Manager-PM & GS

Summary Role:
The main purpose of the job of a Procurement Officer is to ensure 100% availability of materials essential for the company’s day today operations by carrying out effective negotiations for material prices, managing supplier relationships and internal stakeholder engagements to ensure you meet user requirements.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
● Prepare Orders in the system to ensure timely order placement and the right quantities;
● Follow up supplier payments to ensure that suppliers are paid on time and all the required documents are availed for payment;
● Analyse supplier delivery patterns to ensure compliance to quality and quantity and timely deliveries;
● Manage business relationship with suppliers to ensure a productive relationship between MOVIT and suppliers;
● Source for quotations and suppliers for the different Movit needs in terms of goods and services so as to settle on the best vendor with the right qualities and at reasonable prices;
● Order follow up to ensure timely release from the system and ensure timely delivery of ordered materials;
● Raise departmental reservations orders and needs as per the requirements.
● Source, evaluate and negotiate contract terms of agreement and pricing with suppliers;
● Carry out market research for suppliers for key materials required within the business;
● Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analysis, monthly activities, opportunities, challenges met with key recommendations;
● Implement the Movit Eagle way by executing your duties in line with Quality, Speed, Cost, Safety and People in order to establish the basis for Effective Problem Solving, Continuous Improvement and Innovation; and
● Perform any other duties and responsibilities as maybe assigned from time to time by the Supervisor.

Working Relationship and work Environment:
● Working with the entire staff and functions in Movit Products Limited;
● Maintain good relations with key associates and company external stakeholders;
● Office based and ability to manage urgent demands;
● Ability to meet deadlines and exhibit a high degree of flexibility and versatility;
● Ability to work in a team.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
● The ideal candidate for the Procurement Officer position should hold minimum a degree in Procurement and Logistics or in a related field;
● Minimum of 2 Years relevant experience with a manufacturing background;
● Knowledge in SAP;
● Understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods;
● Expert negotiator and influencer;
● Strategic thinker with the vision to plan and drive results
● Computer literacy (Excel, Word, power point);
● Strong knowledge of procurement regulations;
● Ability to work under pressure with minimum or no supervision;
● Excellent interpersonal, communication, supervision, reporting and organization skills with a high demonstrable level of integrity and confidentiality.
