Job Title: Procurement Supervisor

Reports to: Procurement Manager

 

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To provide Procurement support while ascertaining accountability in accordance with Brac Uganda Bank Ltd policies and procedures for efficient and effective operation of the Bank with regard to all procurement aspects.

 

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides supervision to Procurement Officers and ascertain that they accomplish both procurement functions in accordance with BUBL policies and procedures.
  • To work with Heads of Departments/Managers to prepare procurement plans and submit them to management for review and approval.
  • To develop review and update a list of potential pre-qualified suppliers, service providers and contractors.
  • To work with Logistics Officer and ascertain that all goods procured conform to the standard specifications.
  • To ensure transparency, fairness and highest level of integrity in all sorts of procurements support in line with procurement principles and best practices.
  • To receive all duly approved requests /requisitions and ascertain that they have explicit specifications before they are channeled to the respective procurement officers.
  • Prepare and maintain a procurement specification and price catalogue containing all goods, services and works which are procured by BRAC Uganda Bank Limited and keep the same updated in terms of prices and specifications, Terms of Reference and or Bills of Quantities (BOQ)

To prepare complete, accurate and timely procurement reports including items procured and costs but also show a comparative trend of the procurements done on a quarterly basis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or any related professional qualification e.g. CIPS is an advantage.
• At least a minimum of 4 years’ experience in similar role in a busy company/organization in a supervisory role.

• Analytical and pay attention to details

• Good at time management
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, set priorities and able to work under pressure.
• Demonstrates high levels of integrity
• Good communication and Interpersonal Skills.
• Skills of problem solving.
