dfcu Bank is a fast-growing Bank in Uganda offering a wide range of financial solutions to its chosen market segments. We are seeking to recruit for the respective vacant position of  Program Controller in the Change and Innovation Domain (CCIO).

REPORTING TO: Head of Organisational Change

JOB PURPOSE: Reporting to the Head of Organisational Change, the role holder will Implement project control systems and oversee testing of processes, products and project outputs to ensure fit for purpose.

LOCATION: Kampala

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Review respective project plans, detailed work breakdown structures to develop the final realistic schedule for the project or projects in the portfolio.
  • Set-up structures to timely and accurately monitor, predict, control and report on the work that was scheduled to be done, the work that is actually done in a reporting period and to date, and the work required to be done for project completion.
  • Set-up appropriate triggers to enable early identification and management of ‘slippages’ to bring the schedule back on track.
  • Produce consolidated reports, including milestone summary, key issues, risks, benefits, summary of costs incurred.
  • Set up and manage support functions covering planning, tracking, reporting, quality management and internal communication.
  • Manage the support and provision of project tools, appointment letters, equipment, and established standards, tools, and procedures for use on the project, including but not limited to Issue, Risk, Change and Information Management.
  • Regularly monitor assigned project performance and cost estimates to complete estimates at completion (EAC) for reasonableness against plans and actual expense rate.
  • Review project and Program Office activities, engage with the Risk Management Functions to support self-assessments, risk identification, closure of audit findings and compliance with procedures and standards.
  • Plan and oversee the assurance/checks activities to deliver quality project outputs that will increase realization of the envisaged benefits.

 

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE and COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • University degree in Statistics, Economics, Business Administration, or any other Finance-related field.
  • Certificate in Project Management is required.
  • Certification of quality control & cost control is an added advantage (ISO 9000 etc.).
  • 5 years working experience with 3 years in a related role.
  • A good understanding of cost management terminologies, the cost management process, and how the cost control function works in a project.
  • Proven work experience in Quality Assurance or Process Compliance or Rigor Checks.
  • Good Knowledge of Quality Assurance methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Excellent numerical skills and understanding of data analysis/statistical methods.
  • Ability to multi-task and demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse work group of vendors, managers, subcontractors, consultants, and other professionals.
  • Detail-oriented team leader who can consistently meet deadlines and possesses the ability to work independently as needed.
  • Ability to evaluate project management processes in a logical, chronological, and consistent manner.
  • Able to identify, select, train the right project resources.
  • Great attention to detail and a result driven approach.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Analytical and methodical in forecasts, scheduling, budgeting, goals, and timelines.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
