Background
Comprehensive Rehabilitation Services for people with disability in Uganda (CORSU) was established in 2006 as a private non-profit, non-governmental organization and is supported by CBM (Christian Blind Mission).
CORSU provides Orthopaedic Surgery, Plastic Surgery and Rehabilitation, mainly for children as well as adults with disability.
CORSU seeks to employ professionally suitable and dynamic individuals to fill the following positions in the different projects (refer to the CoRSU website for job descriptions – JDs and projects overview):
Position: Project Accountant – CBM BMZ project
Department: Finance
Reports to: Head of Finance
Overall Job Purpose:
The position holder will be responsible for CBM donor reporting and financial management of multi-year restricted funded projects. The role will involve working closely with the Head of Finance and other finance and non-finance staff at CORSU hospital. He/she will be responsible for the project financials ensuring financial due diligence and financial reporting for the CBM/BMZproject.

Academic/Professional qualifications, work experience, knowledge & skills
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Commerce (Accounting option)
ACCA/CPA level Il qualification and a registered member of the professional accounting body (CPAU or ACCA)
Knowledge of the standards for the Professional Practice of Auditing and Accounting
• A relevant qualification in finance and accounting for Grants
• Management or Project Management Professional (PMP); working in, the NGO/Not-for-Profit sector.
• At least three (3) years’ experience managing projects project finances.
• Thorough knowledge of Ms Excel or other financial related databases such as Tally.
• Excellent writing, communication, presentation, reporting and social skills
• Experience in working in the NGO/Not-for-Profit sector.
• Good understanding of disability.
• Ability to work closely with the project Coordinator and collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary teams and consortium partners.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail and able to work under tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of the medical rehabilitation care services within the ten (10) districts central and eastern regions (where CORSU, KCH and OURS operate).
• Understanding of consortium partners’ administration systems as well as that of CBM and BMZ.
• Knowledge and understanding of Results Based Management (RBM) as well as Performance Management Frameworks (PMFS).
• Good working knowledge of internationally accepted rules governing procurement of goods and services.
