Mengo Hospital is a Church of Uganda Missionary founded Hospital and Private Not-For Profit (PNFP), It is categorized as a General Hospital, but operationally a Referral Hospital. The Missionary Hospital developed into the present-day 300-bed hospital, spread over 22 acres of land at Namirembe Hill in Kampala Mengo Hospital in partnership with CBM International seeks to recruit suitably qualified applicants with strong analytical skills, persons of high integrity/morals, God fearing, talented, good team players and should be customer focused to fill the following job positions;

Job Title: Project Accountant (1)
Reports To: Dual reporting to Project Manager and Head of Finance
Location: Mengo Hospital, Eye Department, Kampala .

Job Summary:
This role involves accounting analysis, development and maintenance of various financial reports, budget analysis, and ensuring accuracy of financial transactions and compliance with Mengo Hospital policies and donors’ requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:
• Graduate in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business
• At least level two of Professional Accounting qualification (ACCA or CPA)
• Good computer literacy with excellent use of Office Excel, Word, Powerpoint and experience in use of accounting software and ERP.
• At least two years’ experience in Accounts, Finance or similar project role preferably with implementation of donor grant contracts.

Required skills
• A very high level of Integrity and professionalism
• Proficiency in electronic accounting systems.
• Ability to report to the Project Manager, and to the technical Accounting Supervisor.
• Advanced proficiency in managing general ledgers, journal entries, and account reconciliations
• Exceptional ability to prepare project budgets, financial forecasts, and tax reports.
• Extensive experience in project invoicing and billing.
• In-depth knowledge of best practices in accounting
• Good communication and interpersonal skills capable of maintaining strong relationships
• Attention to details even under pressure
• Time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
